Footage from the pro Russian Sparta Battalion of the Donetsk Peoples Republic (DPR/DNR) works a stretch of road, dropping high explosive grenade munitions into suspected fighting positions. One of the strikes results in the evacuation of the bunker by four Ukrainian soldiers.

The DPR has been presented as a pro Russian separatist group following Russian 2014 invasion of Ukraine. More recently, the Russian military assimilated them into active service as an official military unit. The decision was likely made to centralize control over the group and streamline the resupply of weapons and equipment.
