Another video has surface of a pro Russian militant detonating a landmine from within close proximity... this time by throwing a brick at it.

The mine was reported to be a scatterable PFM-1 anti personnel mine that the Russians are claiming is one of several planted by Ukrainian forces in Donetsk. The devices are usually deployed from mortars and aircraft and can blanket a large area.

Both Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of launching these types of devices into opposition territory, but recently Russia has really doubled down with pushing the narrative. Russia is claiming that Ukraine dropped several over Donetsk city in late July and pointing out that Ukraine signed the Ottawa Treaty, promising not to use these types of weapons. Ukraine is denying it, calling it a Russian false flag.

Here in lies the muddy nature of "truth" in war.
