Footage coming from the trenches of Ukraine today, shows a few Ukrainian troops taking cover from incoming Russian artillery.

These troops have the right idea by staying as low as possible while these rounds impact. Although the rounds can be heard impacting a few meters away, the deadly shrapnel dispersed from the exploding round is still a major hazard. We have seen it several times throughout this conflict; entrenched infantry standing while rounds impact several meters away, but yet they become a casualty. I'd say more likely than not, this is due to shrapnel related injuries. In other instances, if the round is close enough many casualties are caused by the exploding concussion, furthermore, causing internal injuries opposed to flesh wounds.

Regardless, when you're stuck in the middle of a barrage like this.... all you can do is lay low and pray. I would be, and I'm not even religious.
