Engineer Derails Train In Attempt To Destroy Navy Hospital Ship

An engineer intentionally derailed his train yesterday in an attempt to ram the Navy hospital ship USNS Mercy, which was docked at the Port of Los Angeles.

The train engineer, Eduardo Moreno, 44, claimed the ship was "suspicious" and that the ship wasn't there for what the government claimed.

"You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will," Moreno told an investigating officer. Moreno's actions are believed to be a spur-of-the-moment decision, and not planned in advance.

The USNS Mercy arrived into the Port of Los angeles on Mar. 27th 2020 to provide humanitarian support for local hospitals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The following video recorded by US Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Barney shows the hospital ship's arrival into the port.
