Denver PD Armed Robbery Shootout and Tourniquet

Two police Officers engage and exchange gunfire with an armed robbery suspect on Colfax Avenue, Denver CO.


19 seconds into the footage, the suspect is downed. One of the responding officers is wounded in the exchange, having been shot in the leg. While the wounded officer continually covers the downed suspect, his partner (recording via bodycam) administers a tourniquet at 38 seconds. The wounded officer remains on his feet throughout the incident. As other officers clear the suspect, the wounded officer continues to attempt to support, while his partner maintains control and gives directives. At 2: 43, the officers stand down to avoid crossfire. At 2:51, the officers discover a bystander has been wounded in the firefight and give aid, having other bystanders maintain pressure on the wound. At 3:31, the event is replayed via the wounded officer’s bodycam.
