The moment a deadly rocket attack targeted a US base on Feb. 15, 2021 in northern Iraq's Erbil was captured on multiple security cameras.

Reports indicate that three 107mm rockets struck in and near a base occupied and operated by US forces in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. One non-US civilian contractor was killed, 9 others were injured, including eight civilian contractors and one US service member. Additional reports stated that four US citizens (likely contractors) and one US service member were being examined or treated for traumatic brain injuries related to the blasts.

A burnt out vehicle was found nearby that was identified as the rockets' point of origin, a sedan fitted with a rocket launcher. From the photos, it appears the weapon malfunctioned as three rockets were still lodged in the launcher.

An Iranian-linked Shia militia group, Saraya Awlia al Dam took responsibility for the attack, but this has yet to be confirmed by Western intelligence.
