NewsReels

NewsReels is a partner of ours that reached out about a new-to-market news aggregator application with customization options to tailor it to your needs. We spent some time with it to see if it had the customization capability that we wanted personally as a means to stay up-to-date on non-combat footage. It did. 

NewsReels is tailorable down to your locality, and we found that we were seeing articles for our local news sources alongside national and global news sources that we chose as desireable. Presentation is also somewhat novel. The app is designed as a TikTok for News. I like to call it a TikTok for adults. That holds true, and as you scroll news stories you can stop for the highlights of a breaking story, or click-through to read more.

NewsReels is continuing to onboard new data sources, as well. It was and is important that we keep a close eye on as many data sources as possible to find the balance between narratives. Oftentimes, we find that any mainstream news media has an overarching bias that we're always finding a way to see through. Looking at all-sides of the story is paramount to staying informed, and NewsReels aggregates those sources for me so I don't have to go searching through Social Media.

We're excited about the current and future state of NewsReels; it's a choose your own adventure story for the news you want to see. It's available for both iOS and Android.
