Russian Ministry of Defense released drone footage showing a MLRS cluster munition barrage against a battery of Ukrainian M109A3GN self-propelled howitzers, resulting in the destruction of at least one of the artillery vehicles.

Cluster munitions are deployed from MLRS rocket bodies. The smaller submunitions scatter over a wide area, and often times are too small in explosive yield to do significant damage to hardened or armored targets. In this incident, one of the cluster munitions must have made a direct hit on the Ukrainian howitzer for it to be knocked out.
