Chechen fighters participating in the siege of Mariupol conduct a rocket drill which almost goes wrong as one of the shooters conducting suppressive fire nearly takes a round to the gut.

Out of all the footage released by the Chechens so far, an overwhelming majority of it has been faked combat footage. The TikTok Battalion as they've been dubbed by the internet, has an interesting habit of pretending they are in intense gunfights when they're really shooting at absolutely nothing in particular. That said however, when they do release actual combat footage we're keen to share it with you all.

This footage, which was recently recorded in Mariupol, shows a group of Chechen fighters conducting a picture perfect rocket drill. Before firing a rocket, the rocketeer needs to sit in a cold position to prep their launcher. Just before they break for their hot position to take the shot, other shooters need to expose themselves to increase the amount of suppression going out to cover for the rocketeer. In this video, we see exactly that, and we see why the drill works.

Had the Chechens not conducted a proper rocket drill here, causing the target to return fire on one of the Chechen fighters that was providing suppression, the rocketeer likely would have done his best impression of an Iraqi insurgent staring down an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank in Nasiriyah. Because of the suppression however, the Chechen rocketeer was able to get his rocket off and return to his cold position unharmed. The shooter providing suppression however probably needs a change of pants.
