Chechen Fighters Participate in Mop Up Operations After Mariupol Falls

Chechen fighters are seen conducting mop up operations throughout the city of Mariupol after members of the Azov Battalion were forced to surrender large sections of the city.

Footage released today shows members of the Chechen unit in Mariupol conducting a series of mop up operations to clear the last strongholds of Ukrainian resistance inside of the city. This comes after 40 days of non-stop fighting by the Azov Battalion and Ukrainian Marines who were without resupply or air support were forced to surrender due to a lack of ammunition, food, and water to continue their resistance against Russian forces.

At this time, it's unclear how much of the Azov Battalion and Ukrainian forces have been forced to surrender, however battle maps from the city show that large chunks of territory in Mariupol that were still held by Ukrainian forces are now fully under control of the Russian military. This comes as no real surprise to anyone who has been realistically tracking the war, however we have to commend the Azov Battalion and Ukrainian Marines for holding out in this siege for as long as they did. Unlike previous sieges we've witnessed in places like Syria and Iraq, there was absolutely no supply line to feed them ammunition and other logistical support.

They fought with what they had for as long as they could. Now we'll see days of the TikTok Battalion shooting into empty hallways while calling it a "mop up" operation.
