CCTV Captures Militant Attack Against Pakistan Stock Exchange

Published Oct. 20, 2020

CCTV security cameras captured a separatist militant attack against the Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi on Jun. 29, 2020.

It's being reported that four insurgents of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the compound using grenades and small arms. All four attackers were reportedly killed by the stock exchange's security team. At least one more death was reported, likely one of the security guards.

Yasir Baloch, a Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) commander and spokesman told us the attack was intended to damage the Pakistani economy as well as send a message to China, further claiming that China owns approximately 40% of the shares in the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The Balochistan rebels have been waging an insurgency for nearly two decades on the grounds that the Pakistan government and China have been extracting resources from their region while they receive no compensation or representation within the government.
