The UK Ministry of Defense released a video showing British troops training Ukrainian soldiers and acting as OpFor in battle drills.

The footage was released with this statement: "Less than 2 weeks ago these men were civilians. Some day they will be again. But right now they are training to be ready for combat on the front line. Ukrainian soldiers have been taking part in UK-led military programs up and down the country."

While the Ukrainians are certainly getting solid training from the Brits, the statement shows the reality of the situation. Leading up to the February invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Army, the Ukrainian military had been receiving specialized training constantly from US forces. However, within the first few months of the fight, approximately 80% of that trained fighting force had been killed or wounded.

Ukraine is continuing to fill their ranks to fight the Russians, but their soldiers are mostly inexperienced and undertrained. Troops are getting a few days of training on weeks and months worth of skills and knowledge before being sent to the front. Yet, the Ukrainians know this and continue to answer the call.
