Footage released by the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), an ethnic separatist group fighting for independence and autonomy in Pakistan, shows a command-detonated improvised explosive device being used to target a Pakistani military convoy in Jhaki, Mashke on Dec. 6, 2021.

A BLF press release claimed the blast resulted in the deaths of four Pakistani troops and two more seriously wounded. We are unable to independently verify these claimed figures.

The various Baluchistan insurgent groups are fighting for independence from Pakistan as they claim the Pakistan government offers their ethnic group no representation within the government, while extracting resources from their mineral rich province and selling out their ancestral lands to Chinese investors.
