BGM-71 TOW Strike on Unsuspecting T-72

Footage recorded during the TOW era of the Syrian Civil War shows part of the reason why black market ATGMs became so popular after the CIA stopped giving them free TOW missiles.

This video was recorded near Aleppo in 2015. It shows members of an unknown faction of the Free Syrian Army utilizing a CIA supplied TOW missile to destroy a Syrian Arab Army tank on the outskirts of the city. Shortly after this video was filmed, the CIA would stop supplying TOW missiles to the FSA due to extreme radicalization within their ranks. As a result, the FSA would start using a myriad of other black market ATGM systems to continue striking out at targets of opportunity.
