Australian Commando Medevaced from Active Firefight in Afghanistan

A member of the Australian 2nd Commando Regiment is medevaced from an active firefight with members of the Taliban by a U.S. Army medical evacuation platform.

This is a reminder that air medical evacuations are a thing when your side of the conflict establishes air superiority. The footage above was recorded in Afghanistan sometime between 2008 and 2014. It shows the evacuation of an Australian Commando who was injured in a firefight with the Taliban. The platform he is being evacuated in is a U.S. Army Blackhawk that was called in to support troops in contact. If you listen closely, you can hear the gunfight still going on in the distance.
