A typical armed robbery, turned into a comedic scene after a young thug walked into a cell phone shop and helped himself to the cash register, but was soon halted by an employees "big brain" play.

The incident occurred on April 17, 2017, when the suspect, later identified as John Bell, casually walked into Latino Cell in southwest Houston, and began demanding money from an employee. After refusing to give Bell the cash, Bell strolled to the back of the store for a brief moment. While doing so, the employee began evacuating all customers within the shop, locking the door behind her.

Moments later, Bell is seen struggling to exit the locked store front. In a desperate attempt to flee, Bell drew a firearm and began shooting the locking mechanism on the door and attempted to kick the door down, but was unsuccessful. During his last ditch effort, Bell lined up and charged the door shoulder first, but again was unsuccessful.

Utterly defeated, Bell began to plea to outside bystanders, as he stared out the barred-off windows, begging like a sad puppy-dog. Officers soon approached the store, weapons drawn, and apprehended Bell. As a result, John Bell plead guilty to his crimes and was sentenced to five years in prison.
