Alleged Footage of New Afghan National Army Splintering and Fighting Each Other

Published 5 months ago

Footage coming from an unknown part of Afghanistan shows members of the new Afghan National Army, comprised almost entirely of Taliban fighters, engaging each other in a gunfight.

It's unknown at this time what exactly the situation is, however this footage purportedly shows Uzbek Taliban fighters engaging with other members of the Taliban in the region. It appears as if the pressure mounting from the National Resistance Front is once again threatening to tear Afghanistan apart internally, as the group fails to form a cohesive front.

This has always been a fear with the Taliban retaking control of Afghanistan. Many parts of Afghanistan have been ruled by individual warlords for centuries, and there is a very strong possibility that the power vacuum created by a new Afghan Government being weak could cause the entire country to revert to that same style of government where might is right.

Should more Taliban infighting be reported, we will be sure to update you on the situation. For right now, we can't say for that this video is footage of that. This could just be random Afghans having a firefight in the middle of the street.
