Airstrike Video Reportedly Evidence Of Russia - Al Qaeda Cooperation In Syria

Published June 23, 2021

Unconfirmed video out of Syria has been suggested to be evidence of Russian cooperation with the Hyat Tahrir ash Sham (HTS) organization against anti Assad Sunni rebels in Idlib.

The unconfirmed narrative of the allegation suggests that the targeted building was an old police station being used by HTS as a prison to hold militants of rival factions. At the time of the strike, the building had been totally vacated by HTS personnel, leaving only prisoners of third-party rebel groups to die in the blast. Furthermore, the strike was then filmed by HTS rebels, knowing the exact time and location of the impending Russian Air Force precision strike.

The allegations also claim the video was published by an HTS media mill. The watermark reads "Levant Liberation" in Arabic with an email address leading to the Al-Durar Al-Shamiya Network, a self proclaimed not-for-profit information site that praises support for the Syrian revolution, yet claims not to endorse any political party or militant faction.
