The Afghan Airforce finally gets into the fight against the Taliban during the Taliban's latest offensive against government forces. Will they be enough to turn the tides in favor of government forces?

Working on the ground in Afghanistan, I know one thing about the Afghan National Army. There are good Afghan National Army troops, and there are incredibly bad Afghan National Army troops. There really is no in-between with these guys. I can't say I have any experience working with their air powers, but even if a modicum of mediocrity can be found, owning the airspace above the Taliban should give the good ANA troops a fighting chance at repelling the current Taliban offensive and maintaining control of the country.

The video above was recorded on May 9th, 2021 in the Jowzjan Province of Afghanistan. According to the Afghan Airforce press release, it shows one of their pilots eliminating a Taliban stronghold. The purpose of the mission was to deteriorate the Taliban presence in order for ANA ground troops to begin moving into the area.
